Our Tangible Outcomes: Tools for a New Generation
The MaDE4UAS project is designed to produce concrete, sustainable, and high-impact results. Our deliverables are not just project outputs; they are the foundational assets that will continue to serve the Ethiopian higher education community long after the project’s completion. They represent our commitment to creating lasting change.
Foundational Tools & Resources
These are the core knowledge products that will empower educators.
- (D3.1) Toolbox 2.0 for Immersive Learning: This is our flagship deliverable—a comprehensive digital toolkit providing proven methodologies, didactics, and step-by-step guides for designing, producing, and integrating VR, AR, and simulation into training and education. It is the essential "recipe book" for educators to create modern, engaging learning experiences.
- (D5.1) Open-Source Handbooks for VR, AR, and Simulation: A collection of practical, user-friendly handbooks with specific instructions for utilizing the technologies and methodologies developed by the project. To ensure maximum accessibility, these will be published as Open Source material on the National Academic Digital Repository of Ethiopia (NADRE).
Sustainable Infrastructure
These centers will be the permanent hubs for knowledge and innovation.
- (D6.1) The MaDE-Pedagogy Center: Hosted at Kotebe University of Education (KUE), this center will be the national hub for excellence in educational science and teacher training related to immersive technologies. It will drive research, develop curricula, and ensure that the pedagogical use of VR and AR is integrated into the next generation of teacher training programs.
- (D6.2) The MaDE-Technology Center: Housed at Dire Dawa University (DDU), this center will focus on the technical aspects of our work. It will be the hub for the design, production, and technical use of VR/AR simulation materials, providing technical support and development services to universities and industries across Ethiopia.
Human Capacity & Strategic Networks
These deliverables focus on the people and partnerships that will carry the mission forward.
- (D3.2) A National Network of Certified Trainers: We will train and certify over 60 master trainers in the design and application of VR/AR educational tools. This creates a powerful, self-sustaining national network of experts capable of scaling the project's impact across the country.
- (D7.2) The National Resonance Group (NRG): The establishment of a formal, permanent council of industry partners and university leaders. The NRG acts as a formal bridge between academia and the World of Work, providing ongoing advice and guidance to ensure that educational programs remain aligned with the practical needs of Ethiopia's economy.
- (D4.1) Comprehensive Piloting Report: A detailed public report that analyzes the results, feedback, and lessons learned from the project's extensive piloting phase. This document will serve as a crucial resource for other institutions seeking to implement similar innovative educational strategies.
