Our project Roadmap with key Milestones

Our Journey: A 36-Month Roadmap to Impact

The MaDE4UAS project is a meticulously planned 36-month initiative, structured to ensure we meet our objectives efficiently and transparently. Our journey is mapped out across four distinct phases, each marked by key milestones that represent significant progress. This timeline serves as our public commitment to accountability and excellence in execution.

Foundation & Research Months 1 -8
Phase 1
This initial phase focuses on establishing the project's operational and strategic groundwork. We will analyze international best practices and formalize the collaborative frameworks that will guide our work.
  • Formalizing Partnerships (MS1 - Month 6): All legal and financial agreements with our consortium partners, subcontractors, and procurement processes are finalized.
  • Launching Quality Management (MS4 - Month 6): The project’s internal digital Quality Management Platform becomes fully operational to ensure transparency and monitor progress.
  • Best Practice Collection (MS5 - Month 5): Our European partners complete a comprehensive overview of existing VR/AR/simulation best practices in education.
  • Strategic Evaluation (MS7 - Month 7): We finalize the evaluation report on the collected best practices, providing a clear evidence base to guide the development of our own tools.
Development & Creation (Months 9-16)
Phase 2
With a solid foundation, this phase is dedicated to the creation of our core intellectual outputs. Our teams will work collaboratively to design and build the first iteration of the tools and methodologies.

  • Defining Core Content (MS9 - Month 7): Based on our needs analysis, the priority topics and industrial processes for the first VR/AR simulations are selected.

  • Toolbox 1.0 Development (MS10 - Month 8): The initial version of our VR/AR design toolkit is completed and prepared for internal testing.

  • Initial Try-Out & Feedback (MS11 - Month 15): The first try-out of Toolbox 1.0 is completed, and a feedback report is generated to guide the next iteration.

  • Finalizing Methodology (MS12 - Month 16): The core methodology for the effective use of VR and AR simulations in a teaching context is established.

Piloting, Refinement & Capacity Building (Months 17-24)
Phase 3
This phase focuses on pressure-testing our solutions in real-world environments and building the human capacity needed for long-term success.
  • Piloting Guidelines Established (MS14 - Month 14): Clear guidelines and success indicators for the wider piloting phase are developed and distributed to all university partners.
  • Peer Reviewer Training (MS15 - Month 16): A network of peer reviewers is trained, and all documentation for observing and evaluating the piloting is finalized.
  • Strategic Plans for Centers (MS18 - Month 24): The comprehensive business and strategic plans for the MaDE-Pedagogy and MaDE-Technology Centers are finalized.
  • Securing the Future (MS19 - Month 24): The official Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the statutes of the MaDE-Centers are signed, securing their institutional foundation.

Sustainability, Dissemination & Legacy (Months 25-36)
Phase 4
The final phase is dedicated to ensuring the project's long-term sustainability and disseminating our results to a national and international audience.

  • Final Integration Reports (MS20 - Month 36): Final reports on the successful integration of VR/AR simulations into university study programs are completed.

  • Public Launch (MS23 - Month 6): The official MaDE4UAS project website and communication platforms are launched to the public.

  • Ensuring Quality for the Future (MS25 - Month 23): The official concept for long-term benchmarking of VR/AR in education is elaborated for ongoing quality assurance.

  • Final Industry Collaboration Reports (MS26 - Month 36): The final reports from the National Resonance Group meetings are published, cementing the project's legacy of industry-academia collaboration.
