Lecturers leave DDU with cascade-ready immersive teaching skills

Four days at the MaDE-Technology Center (Dire Dawa University), co-funded by Erasmus+ and delivered with Guzo Technologies, moved faculty from VR foundations and Unity XR through civil and electromechanical simulations to teaching integration and project pitches. Certificates were issued by DDU President Dr. Ubah Ahmed; Project Coordinator Dr. Ephrem Tekle framed the industry–classroom bridge from day one.

46 lecturers certified as Master Trainers in immersive didactics

Core Training of Trainers completed with 46 university lecturers from Dire Dawa, Aksum, Assosa, St. Mary’s, and the Federal TVET Institute. Cascades are anchored by the MaDE-Pedagogy Center (KUE) and MaDE-Technology Center (DDU).

At the NRG meeting in Addis Ababa (28 October 2025), industry partners described the gap between theoretical teaching and workplace skills—and welcomed MaDE-for-UASs as a bridge. An MoU and Advisory Charter formalised ongoing collaboration.

Impact is designed to last beyond any single training week. The MaDE-Pedagogy Center at Kotebe University of Education and the MaDE-Technology Center at Dire Dawa University host equipment, ToT cascades, and open didactic tools so immersive methods remain institutional—and graduates gain practical competence, not only credentials.
